Gas Log Fireplace Guide – Original Cottage

How to Use the Fireplace:

1. Switch on the fan
The fan switch is located to the left of the fireplace, within the bottom shelf of the bookshelf.

2. Check the pilot light

  • If the pilot light is already lit, move on to Step 3.

  • If not, follow the instructions on the lower flip-down panel to ignite it (this may take a few attempts).

  • Once lit, move the control to the ON position.

3. Turn on the fireplace
Use the black remote and press ON — the main burner will ignite.

4. Turn off the fireplace
Press OFF on the remote. The pilot light will stay lit for next time.

Important Notes:

  • The fan will start automatically once the unit reaches operating temperature (approx. 5–10 minutes). It may also keep running after the fire is turned off to cool the unit — this is normal.

  • Fan speed and flame intensity can only be adjusted manually via the controls behind the lower flip-down panel (not the remote).

  • The remote display shows the current room temperature only, not the set temperature.

 ** The most effective and efficient method of heating the cottage is to use the ducted air-conditioner. Please don’t leave the fireplace running continuously during your stay **

⚠️ If you feel unsure about the operation of the fireplace at any time, please turn off the unit and utilize the air-conditioner for heating the cottage instead.
